Toyota’s Much Awaited Land Cruiser 300 Flagship SUV Will Be Unveiled In India At Auto Expo 2023

• The LC 300 is an all-new SUV based on the Toyota GA-F platform. 

• Powered by 3.3-litre diesel and 3.5-litre petrol V6 engines paired with a 10-speed automatic and 4WD system. 

• Official bookings expected to open soon, delivery timelines should be revealed at Expo unveiling. 

• Will be imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU), likely to be priced from around Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom). 

The next-generation Toyota Land Cruiser is coming to Auto Expo 2023 for its India unveiling. The 300-series Land Cruiser, which made its world premiere in 2021, had been available to book at some dealerships in India in 2022, so we can expect the delivery timelines to be announced at the expo.

We expect the Land Cruiser to be priced from around Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom) onwards. It’ll rival flagship luxury SUVs such as the Mercedes GLS, BMW X7 and the Range Rover.

New Land Cruiser 300 

Everything apart from the mammoth footprint is new in the LC 300. The SUV is based on the new Toyota GA-F ladder-frame platform. It has a cleaner design with more premium, modern touches such as an enlarged front grille, sharp LED headlights and boxy styling. 

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in plush, soft-touch materials and the dashboard features a floating 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Other equipment include a start-stop button with fingerprint sensor, 10 airbags and driver-assistance tech. 

LC 300 powertrain specs 

Overseas, the Land Cruiser 300 gets 415PS 3.5-litre petrol and 309PS 3.3-litre diesel twin-turbo V6 engine options. However, in India, it’s likely only the latter will be offered here. It’ll be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive (4WD or 4x4) system.

The off-road capable SUV is also equipped with a Multi-terrain Monitor with underbody cameras and Multi-terrain modes for driving on dirt, sand, snow or on rocky terrain.

Apart from the Land Cruiser luxury SUV, Toyota India will showcase its existing lineup at Auto Expo 2023, which consists of the Glanza hatchback, Hyryder and Fortuner SUVs, Innova Hycross and Vellfire MPVs, Hilux pickup truck and Camry hybrid sedan. It’s also expected to showcase the sporty Toyota Corolla GR at the event as well.
