The adventure segment is growing fast in India, and TVS is one of the few brands that’s missing out on the action. However, this could change in the near future. Why? Well, TVS has recently applied for a trademark for the name ‘Apache RTX’. The status says ‘Formalities Chk Pass’, which means the Indian Trademark Registry has authenticated the records.
While the Apache RTR range is all about road bikes tempered with TVS Racing’s storied racing experience, the RTX moniker hints at something off-road. It could very well be the name for an Apache-branded adventure bike. That said, TVS’ partnership with BMW Motorrad has already spawned the BMW G 310 GS. Even the TVS Apache RR 310 eventually got rebranded to the BMW G 310 RR. But we hope TVS doesn’t do the same with its upcoming adventure bike.
Another possibility is an Apache-based scrambler. However, with the TVS Ronin already in the picture, this seems unlikely. We’ll have to wait and watch exactly what TVS is brewing in its backyard.
