TVS is all set to bring back the iconic Fiero brand with the new Fiero 125, the trademark of which has been accepted. The Fiero 125, likely to be based on the TVS Raider, will add to the country's popular 125cc motorcycle segment.
We don't know much about the bike's design, but it is expected to get a retro styling as an ode to the original Fiero. The motorcycle could feature a round LED headlight setup and LED taillight to go with the look.
The Fiero 125 will most likely be powered by the same engine as the Raider: 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected, three-valve engine churning out 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm. It could be paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension setup might also be the same as the Raider: a telescopic front fork with a rear monoshock. Braking could be entrusted to a disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear, coupled with a combined braking system.
However, while the Raider was fully loaded, some features like the fully digital instrument cluster and ride modes may not make it to the Fiero 125.
With the Fiero 125 – expected to be launched later this year at around Rs 75,000 – TVS will be packing heat in the highly competitive 125cc motorcycle segment along with the Raider, taking on bestsellers like the Honda CB Shine, Bajaj Pulsar and Hero Glamour.
