TVS Motor Company has unveiled a one-off, custom Ronin, dubbed ‘Parakram.’ It pays tribute to the heroes of the Indian Armed Forces who fought in the Kargil War of 1999. It was unveiled on July 26, 2024, the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Pays a tribute to the Kargil War soldiers

The bike has some detailed customisations, including a very special, olive green paintwork on the tank, side panel, and the front mud-guard that showcases the valour of the soldiers. The top of the fuel tank has been designed to look like steel armour, and has a Kargil Diwas logo on it. There are tricolour stripes on the tank that extend to the headlight unit, which also has an upright metal windshield. The indicators are shaped like an actual bullet, and are made of brass.

On the left side panel, there’s an illuminated 99 logo that marks the year of the Kargil War. Moving back, the chopped seat has a suede leather cover that looks quite classy; same material for the handle grips too. The subframe has been trimmed as well, and has a stainless steel luggage carrier. Finally, to complete the rugged look of the bike, both the wheels have knobby tyres.

Honours Kargil War heroes

The TVS Ronin, in its standard form, is a roadster with a hint of retro styling. It’s powered by a 225.9cc air & oil-cooled engine that makes 20.4PS and 19.93Nm. It has a 41mm inverted fork and a seven-step preload-adjustable monoshock, both suspending 17-inch wheels. The Ronin has a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS. It has two ABS modes, Rain & Urban, that change how the system intervenes.

There are good chances that this will remain a one-off unit, but we hope TVS offers more customisation options inspired by this, especially that seat.
