TVS Motor Company has trademarked two names: TVS XL EV and TVS E-XL and we think it’ll be for the TVS XL 100 electric. The status of the trademarks is ‘Accepted & Advertised’ which means the trademark names can now be used to name the vehicle. Of the two, we think the name ‘TVS E-XL’ will be used for the electric XL 100 because the other name is a bit too generic.
The design patent of the electric moped was earlier leaked online and it revealed that the design and the frame of the electric XL 100 will be quite similar to that of its petrol-powered sibling. It also showed that the electric moped will get a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup. Powering it will be a swingarm-mounted motor and will be connected to the wheel via a belt drive.
As the trademarks have recently been filed, it’ll be a while before it’s launched in India…maybe sometime in 2025. Since there will be no FAME 2 subsidies available then, TVS will have to price it quite competitively to compete with the likes of the Kinetic E-Luna.
In other news, TVS is offering a variety of offers and discounts of up to Rs 18,499 for the TVS iQube electric scooter. These offers are only available in Maharashtra and are valid till March 31, 2024 .

For both the TVS iQube S and the regular variant, interested customers can now avail benefits of Rs 7,500 if they purchase the electric scooter with no cost EMI. There’s a discount of Rs 4,999 on the 5 years / 70,000km extended warranty, bringing its cost down to Rs 1,000. TVS is also offering a cashback offer of up to Rs 6,000 for both variants.
