Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming 440cc bike based on the Harley-Davidson X440, likely to be called the Hero Mavrick 440, has been spied testing ahead of its launch in January at Hero World 2024.
The LED headlight looks very similar to that of the Hero Xpulse 200 4V. It gets a telescopic fork compared to the inverted unit on the X440, which suggests that the Mavrick 440 might be a more affordable offering compared to its American counterpart. The alloy wheel design also looks different from the ones on the X440 but the LED indicators look similar.
Move towards the tank and that’s where we see the biggest differences in the form of the fuel tank extensions. The instrument console could be a colour LCD unit. The ergonomics looks similar to the X440 but it looks like the spied Hero bike gets a slightly taller handlebar. The panniers along with the rear-mounted luggage, auxiliary lights and crash guards suggests it might be touring friendly. Also, a kitted-out Harley-Davidson X440 with a flyscreen and crashguard is also seen riding behind the Mavrick 440.
The upcoming Hero Mavrick 440 will likely be launched at Hero World 2024 with a price tag of around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). For perspective, the Hero Xpulse 200 4V costs Rs 1,41,026 (ex-showroom Delhi) It will rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
