Honda recently updated the Dio with some new bits, making it a wholesome package. So if you’ve missed out on that, here’s a quick rundown on what’s new on the scooter:
The most obvious new bit is the 110cc engine that is now an OBD 2-compliant one. Output figures, though, remain the same, at 7.76PS and 9Nm.
Next on the list for the Dio are new colour schemes and graphics. Now, it was always a good-looking scooter with sharp and aggressive styling. But with these minor changes, the scooter looks smarter and better than before. The new colour options also give the scooter a fresh lease of life, and the contrast between the colours of the body panels and the wheels works well for something like the Jazzy Blue Metallic.
And finally, the Dio gets a new ‘Smart’ variant, which facilitates a bunch of keyless features, exactly what we’ve previously seen on both the Activa 6G and the Activa 125. Here’s everything it allows you to do:
Smart Find - If you’re within 10 metres of the scooter, all the four indicators will flash, letting you know the location of the vehicle.
Smart Unlock - If you’re within two metres of the scooter, you can lock and unlock its handle, and also unlock the fuel lid and seat
Smart Safe - You can turn on your scooter by being simply within two metres of the scooter. If the distance increases, the scooter locks itself automatically. But you can also disable this feature by pressing the button for three seconds.
Smart Start - Turning the knob and pushing the start button is now all it’ll take to turn on the Activa 6G.
The updates are decently substantial and they obviously don’t come for free. But Honda has chosen not to get greedy and give both the Standard and Deluxe variants a reasonable Rs 1,586 price hike. Opting for the keyless features too, will cost you an acceptable Rs 3,500 over the Deluxe. Here’s how much each trim costs now:
Variant |
Standard |

Smart |
Price (ex-showroom Delhi) |
Rs 70,211 |
