In the last few years, EVs have become very popular in India. The country has adapted electric cars, bikes and scooters very quickly, thanks to the rapidly developing EV charging infrastructure. Today, we have a wide variety of electric mobility options in India, and the range is growing day by day.
To celebrate World EV Day 2024, we have put together a list of the top 5 fastest electric bikes and scooters that you can currently buy in India:
The Kabira KM4000 Mark II is an electric roadster by the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Kabira Mobility. It is priced at Rs 1,76,000 (ex-showroom Goa, excluding FAME 2 subsidy). The electric bike is equipped with a hub-mounted motor that generates 12kW. The KM4000 Mark II claims to accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in just 2.9 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 120kmph, earning it 5th place on this list.
The KM4000 Mark II comes in two variants. The base variant has a 4.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack and delivers a claimed range of 178km. It takes 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent from a 1.5kW on board charger. Whereas, the top KM4000-V variant is fitted with a 5.15kWh battery pack providing a 201km of claimed range. It takes 3 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge.
Ola Electric’s flagship scooter, the S1 Pro secured the 4th place on this list. Priced at Rs 1,28,999 (ex-showroom including EMPS subsidy), the Ola S1 Pro also has a claimed top speed of 120kmph. The electric scooter gets a mid-mounted Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor delivering a peak output of 11kW and 58Nm. It gets four riding modes: Eco, Normal, Sports and Hyper.
The Ola S1 Pro has a 4kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 143km in Normal mode. It charges from 0 to 100 percent in 6.5 hours.
The BMW CE-04 is a premium electric scooter from the German manufacturer which is priced at a whopping Rs 14,90,000 (ex-showroom). The CE-04 comes with a futuristic and sporty design. It comes equipped with a mid-mounted motor that produces a peak output of 31kW. It also has a claimed top speed of 120kmph as the other two EVs.

The German electric scooter has a powerful 8.9kWh battery pack which delivers a 130km claimed range. Charging the BMW CE-04 from 0 to 100 percent with a standard charger requires 4 hours and 20 minutes. Whereas, the optional quick charger charges the scooter in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The Orxa Mantis is the first electric bike from the Bengaluru-based startup, Orxa Energies. The Mantis features a unique look with an aggressive front design and costs Rs 3,60,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru).
Equipped with a liquid-cooled motor that delivers a peak output of 20.5kW, it can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.9 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 135kmph, securing the 2nd position on this list. The electric bike offers a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 221km. It takes 5 hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent of the standard 1.3kW charger and 2 hours and 30 minutes when charged from the ‘Blitz’ 3.3kW charger.
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is the fastest and most capable made in India production electric bike, earning it the top spot on this list. It has a sporty and aggressive design, making it stand out among other electric bikes available in India. The prices for the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 starts at Rs 2,99,000 going up to Rs 3,99,999 (both prices ex-showroom Bengaluru).
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is equipped with a mid-mounted permanent magnet AC motor producing 27kW and 90Nm on the standard variant. Whereas, the Recon variant delivers 30kW and 100Nm. Both variants have a claimed top speed of 155kmph. The Mach 2 standard comes with a 7.1kWh battery pack that provides an IDC range of 211km. The Recon variant, on the other hand, has a bigger 10.3kWh battery and an IDC range of 323km.
Charging the F77 Mach 2 standard variant from 20 to 80 percent takes 3 hours with a standard charger, 1.5 hours with a boost charger, and just 45 minutes using the UV Supernova charger. However, the Recon variant, because of the bigger battery, takes 5 hours to charge from 20 to 80 percent with a standard charger, 2.5 hours with a boost charger, and 60 minutes with the UV Supernova charger.
