The new Sports Pack also contains aesthetic upgrades as well

In the European market, Yamaha has tasted much success with its YZF R125 entry-level sport bike. And now the Japanese marque has introduced a new ‘Sport Pack’ with a few parts that make it better for track riding.

The revised windshield has a larger bubble to more efficiently direct the air over the rider’s helmet when in a tuck. The frame sliders, which have a carbon fibre finish, and a lighter tail tidy should also come in handy for track exploits. As part of the aesthetics, you get new stickers on the wheels, a tank pad with an artificial carbon fibre finish and new LED indicators. Apart from that, the baby R-family member already had an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust offered as an accessory.

At the heart of the R125 is still the same 124.7cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch The R125 makes 14.96PS and 11.5Nm,  0.46PS more but 0.5Nm less than its chief rival, the KTM RC 125

The newly launched Sport Pack will go on sale in the European markets this summer. The R125 is available in two colours: Icon Blue and Yamaha Black, and commands a hefty price tag of 5,000 Pounds (approximately Rs 4.68 lakh). The Sport Pack will set you back by an additional 391 Pounds (approximately Rs 36,616).

While Yamaha Europe has introduced this for the R125, we think that Yamaha India could do something similar for the R15. Now, though the same elements cannot be fitted directly onto the R15 V4, they should be compatible with the R15 V3S. So if anyone from Yamaha India is listening, we’d love to see the Sport Pack for the R15 this festive season.
