Yamaha has hiked the price of the supersport for the second time in just two months

Yamaha has hiked the price of the YZF-R15 V4 by Rs 2,000, the second price revision for the popular supersport since its latest iteration was launched in September 2021. Interestingly, the Japanese bikemaker has not hiked the price of the MotoGP edition of the motorcycle. Here are the new prices of the bike:

Variant January 2022 Price November 2021 Price
Yamaha R15 V4 Metallic Red Rs 1,72,800 Rs 1,70,800
Yamaha R15 V4 Dark Knight Rs 1,73,800 Rs 1,71,800
Yamaha R15 V4 Racing Blue Rs 1,77,800 Rs 1,75,800
Yamaha R15 M Metallic Grey Rs 1,82,800 Rs 1,80,800
Yamaha R15 M Moto GP Edition Rs 1,82,800 Rs 1,82,800

The Yamaha R15 V4 has been raking in good sales for the company, and even became the highest-selling Yamaha bike in September 2021. November 2021 witnessed a sharp decline in two-wheeler sales, which surprisingly didn’t affect the R15. But with the bike now costing Rs 5,000 more in the last four months, does the R15 have to worry?

We don’t think so. The R15 V4 enjoys a unique position in our market, and despite the price hike is relatively affordable compared to the 2021 KTM RC 125 (Rs 1.79 lakh) and the 2021 KTM RC 200 (Rs 2.07 lakh). Though the M variant is slightly more expensive than the RC 125, Team Blue has a quickshifter, traction control, bluetooth connectivity, and of course, more performance to woo you with. So, if you are looking for a supersport, the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 is still a sweet deal for the money.
