Lexus has taken the wraps off the all-new RX hybrid luxury SUV in India at Auto Expo 2023. The all-new RX is now in its fifth generation and will be available with self-charging hybrid (strong-hybrid) powertrains in 350h and 500h F Sport variants. It’ll slot between the NX and full-size LX SUVs in the carmaker’s lineup. The Lexus RX is available to order now and will be launched in March 2023, with deliveries set to begin around April.
Overall, the Lexus RX looks sleek and modern with its sharp lines and smooth curves. Its spindle grille extends all the way down to the chin spoiler, flanked by large headlights with arrow-shaped LED DRLs.
From the sides, the SUV looks completely different from its predecessor with its low-slung stance and coupe-esque roofline.

At the rear, it features connected LED taillights that sit on a sculpted tailgate. The rear bumper features cooling vents behind the fenders and faux vent-like trim elements on the lower bumper trim piece.
In India, the Lexus RX will be available in 350h and 500h F Sport variants. The 350h has a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, producing 250PS combined power, while the RX 500h Sport has a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a six-speed automatic and strong-hybrid system, making a total of 366PS and 460Nm. It’s good for nought to 100kmph in 6.2 seconds.
The new Lexus RX will go up against the Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5, and should be priced from around Rs 1 crore onwards (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale in March.
