The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift will be available to buy in three broad trims: Tech Line, GT Line and X-Line. These three trims get minor design differences for a visual distinction between all of them. And in this report, we’re going to take a closer look at the HTX+ variant, which is the top-end variant in the Tech Line trim.
For starters, you get the same reworked grille along with the new LED headlights and DRLs, but keen-eyed viewers will notice the different inserts in the grille. You also get a tweaked bumper with vertically stacked LED fog lamps instead of the horizontal units found on the higher-end variants.
In profile, the Sonet HTX+, being one of the higher-end variants, rolls on 16-inch dual-tone alloys. It gets a more elegant design instead of the sporty units seen on the GT Line and X-Line trims.
Connected LED tail lamps dial up the premium quotient at the rear. A revised bumper rounds off the overall design updates.
Inside, the main update in the 2024 Sonet facelift HTX+ that can be easily seen is the new black/tan colour scheme. No major changes have been made to the dashboard layout, but a closer look reveals a new interface for the climate control panel. This brings us to the features list of the facelifted Sonet.
Highlights in this variant include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, a Bose sound system and a 4-way powered driver’s seat (diesel-iMT only).
As for safety, you get six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a rear parking camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Do note that niceties such as a 360-degree camera and ADAS are limited to the higher-end GTX+ and X-Line variants.
The higher-end HTX+ variant comes with the 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines only. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is limited to the lower-end variants. You can take a look at the variant-wise powertrain combinations and detailed specifications by tapping this link.
Kia India is all set open bookings for the Sonet facelift on December 20 and prices are expected to be out in early 2024. Considering the updates, it could command a notable premium over the outgoing car, which started from Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sonet will continue to lock horns with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Nissan Magnite.
