Jawa has added another Bobber in its portfolio with the launch of the 42 Bobber. It takes inspiration from the Jawa Perak and is based on the same, though with significant changes to make it more snazzy.
The Jawa 42 Bobber is priced at Rs 2,06,500 for the Mystic Copper colour variant, Rs 2,07,500 for the Moonstone White paint scheme and Rs 2,09,187 for the dual tone Japer Red colourway (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The base colour variant of the 42 Bobber is Rs 2,687 more affordable than the Perak.
It will go up against the likes of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Honda H’ness CB350, Yezdi Roadster and Keeway V302C.
In terms of design, the Jawa 42 Bobber looks like a more modernised version of the Perak.
It gets a completely redesigned front with a new headlight unit.
It gets a new, muscular fuel tank with knee recesses and rubber pads, for a rather sporty appeal complementing the colour schemes.
It gets an all-new cushioned single-piece saddle and a long retro-style rear fender with the taillight and indicators mounted on it. It also gets a new, redesigned exhaust setup.
It features an LCD instrument console with new switchgear on the handlebar to control the functionalities.
It also gets all LED lighting.
Powering the Jawa 42 Bobber is the same 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 30.64PS and 32.74Nm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
It gets the same underpinnings as the Perak which includes a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup which is retuned for better comfort.
It also gets revised ergonomics with repositioned footpegs, resulting in a different riding posture that seems to be more comfortable than the Perak.
For braking, It gets discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
The Jawa 42 Bobber is essentially a modernised version of the Perak with more features and sporty colour schemes, all at a slightly more affordable price. The revised ergonomics, suspension and the new saddle should result in a more plush riding experience, though we will only be able to comment on it once we have ridden the bike.
