After dropping a couple of teasers, Volvo has now launched the facelifted XC60 and S90 in India at a price tag of Rs 61.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Aside from subtle cosmetic touch-ups and tech upgrades, these two models will be the first to be partially electrified in Volvo’s India lineup.

With this midlife refresh, the 2021 S90 and XC60 are priced at a premium of Rs 1 lakh over their pre-facelift counterparts.
So what’s changed in the two models? For starters, the S90 sedan gets tweaks to the front grille , new bumpers and chrome inserts. The XC60 on the other hand also gets new bumpers and a tweaked front grille, but also comes with a new alloy wheel design.
The updated S90 comes in Crystal White, Bright Silver, Onyx Black, and Denim Blue body shades. On the other hand, the XC60 SUV gets six paint options: Crystal White Pearl, Osmium Grey, Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Pine Grey and Fusion Red.

Inside, the cabin for both facelifted models remain similar, but they now come equipped with Volvo’s latest Android infotainment system. It features Google apps, Google Assistant, and Volvo’s ‘Digital Services’ package. Both models also get an air purifier, a ‘Volvo Cars’ App for features including remote lock/unlock and charging status (for upcoming Volvo EVs), and blind spot monitoring. Volvo will offer a 3-year service warranty package at Rs 75,000 for both the models.
The main change for the S90 and XC60 is under the hood. Powering them is a 2-litre petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system for torque assist and better fuel efficiency. The powertrain makes 250PS and 350Nm of torque for both the sedan and SUV.
With this, the facelifted Volvo S90 sedan will rekindle its rivalry with the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and BMW 5 Series. The updated XC60 SUV on the other hand takes on the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and the soon-to-be-launched Audi Q5.
