Kia India has now re-introduced the diesel-manual powertrain combination in the Seltos, its popular compact SUV. With this update, you now have the option to choose between three transmission options in the Seltos diesel. It’s priced from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and this option is offered in five broad trims.

Kia says the reason for reintroduction of the diesel-manual powertrain is because “customers wanted to experience the joy of shifting gears.” It must be noted that the Sonet diesel was reintroduced with the same powertrain option when the facelift was introduced.
The Seltos diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine belting out 116 PS and 250 Nm. You can have it with either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Apart from that, you also have the option to choose from either a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol or a 115 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. You can take a look at the detailed variant-wise powertrain options of the Seltos here.
Kia was also quick to add that the Seltos facelift has found 65,000 homes ever since its introduction in July 2023. Prices start from Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and it locks horns with the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor.
