The Standard Edition gets all the bells and whistles except Bluetooth connectivity

Suzuki has finally launched the Avenis Standard Edition variant in India after first announcing it during the launch of the sporty scooter last year.

What's Its Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The Suzuki Avenis Standard Edition variant has been priced at Rs 86,500, making it Rs 1,500 cheaper than the Ride Connect Edition and Rs 1,800 cheaper than the top trim Race Edition. You can buy the base trim of the Avenis in the four existing dual-tone paint jobs.

The Avenis primarily competes with sporty 125cc scooters like Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid (Rs 79,430 onwards) and the TVS NTorq 125 (Rs 73,270 onwards) (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). We have tested the Suzuki scooter against the NTorq 125 Race XP, and here’s how it fares.

What's New?

For the Standard Edition, Suzuki has skipped the Bluetooth connectivity and navigation features. The LCD unit on this variant packs enough information like time, speed, engine temperature, two trip meters and a service indicator.

What's Unchanged?

Apart from the instrument console, the Suzuki Avenis Standard Edition remains the same as the Ride Connect and Race Edition. So, you get the same 124cc air-cooled motor, producing 8.7PS and 10Nm. Not only is the braking and suspension setup the same as the higher variants, it even gets features like USB socket and LED headlight.

ZigSays

At Rs 86,500, the Suzuki Avenis Standard Edition is still a pricey proposition, especially when the Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid, and the TVS NTorq 125 are available at a much lower price point. Suzuki could have introduced a drum brake-equipped variant to make it slightly more affordable.
