Mercedes-Benz led the luxury segment with multiple facelifts, while Tata and Mahindra caught attention with the Curvv and Thar Roxx in the mass-market space

When it comes to purchasing a new car, the SUV segment has spoiled us with most choices. We now have options across every price bracket, and a lot of models also come with an EV alternative. Notably, the most awaited models of this year were also SUVs. With 2024 continuing this momentum, here's a roundup of all the SUVs launched in India in 2024.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift And Maybach GLS 600

GLS Price: Rs 1.32 crore to 1.37 crore (ex-showroom)

GLS Maybach Price: Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom)

In early January, Mercedes-Benz launched the 2024 GLS facelift, showcasing subtle yet stylish updates to its flagship SUV. It features a revised fascia with updated LED headlights and tweaked bumpers, while the interior retains a similar cabin layout with new upholstery. Engine options include a 3-litre turbo-petrol and a 3-litre diesel engine, both paired with a 9-speed AT.

 

Later in May, Mercedes launched the Maybach version of the 2024 GLS, featuring minor changes to both its exterior and interior. It is no short of luxury features, with some highlights including a 13-speaker Burmester sound system, entertainment screens for rear-seat passengers, heated and ventilated seats with massage function, and a four-zone climate control system. The Maybach GLS 600 is powered by a 4-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine that puts out 557 PS and 730 Nm.

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift

Price: Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 15.76 lakh (ex-showroom)

 Kia kicked off its year with the launch of the Sonet facelift in the first half of January. It showcased a refreshed look, got new amenities, and received an upgrade in safety with ADAS. Top features include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. The 2024 Sonet is offered in seven broad variants with three engine options.

2024 Hyundai Creta And Creta N Line

Creta Price: Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20.29 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Creta N Line Price: Rs 16.82 lakh to Rs 20.44 lakh (ex-showroom)

Hyundai launched the updated 2024 Creta, which brought major changes to its exterior as well as feature set. New additions include dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS. Other highlights include dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and the digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. The 2024 Creta is available with three engine choices and four transmission options.

The Creta N Line joined Hyundai's performance-focused lineup in the first half of March. It is based on the standard Creta but gets sporty upgrades, including a stiffer suspension, revised steering rack, and a dual-tip exhaust setup. The Creta N Line maintains a similar feature set to the regular model but is offered only with the 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated either to a 6-speed manual or to a 7-speed DCT.

2024 Land Rover Discovery 

Price: Rs 67.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

The month of January also marked the launch of the facelifted 2024 Land Rover Discovery in India. It received minor updates to its exterior, came equipped with a new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and also featured an updated gear selector. The 2024 Discovery continues to draw power from either the 248 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol or the 203 PS 2-litre diesel engine.

Tata Punch EV 

Price: Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom)

Tata Motors expanded its EV portfolio with the launch of the Punch EV in the second half of January. The Punch EV gets two battery pack options, and delivers a claimed range of up to 421 km. It also features design changes compared to its ICE-powered counterpart and comes equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system, six airbags as standard, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera.

2024 Range Rover Evoque Facelift 

Price: Rs 67.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

Another Land Rover that received minimal updates is the 2024 Range Rover, launched at the end of January. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Evoque also received a price cut of Rs 5.17 lakh and is offered only in a single Dynamic SE trim. Engine options include a 204 PS 2-litre diesel and a 249 PS 2-litre petrol, both paired with mild-hybrid tech and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe 

Price: Rs 1.81 crore (ex-showroom)

Mercedes-AMG launched the 2024 GLE 53 Coupe facelift, which features styling similar to the updated GLE SUV but looks sportier thanks to its sloping roofline. It is powered by a 3-litre turbo-petrol six-cylinder engine that produces 435 PS and 560 Nm. The 2024 GLE 53 also comes with an updated MBUX infotainment screen, a new AMG-spec steering wheel, and features such as a Burmester sound system, powered front seats with heating and ventilation, and a panoramic sunroof.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Facelift 

Price: Rs 50.50 lakh to Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Alongside the GLE 53 Coupe, Mercedes also launched the 2024 GLA facelift in India, featuring minor changes to its exterior and interior. New features in the 2024 GLA include wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto high beam assist, a 360-degree camera system, and blind spot assist. It is offered in two trims, including the AMG Line, which is available only with the 190 PS/400 Nm 2-litre diesel engine.

 

Bentley Bentayga EWB Opulence Edition

 In early March, Bentley introduced the Opulence Edition for its lineup, including the Bentayga EWB Azure in India. It features a distinct Scarab Green exterior shade, along with a bespoke interior co-developed by Bentley Mumbai and the Mulliner team. Notably, this is the first India-specific edition sold on our shores and is limited to just three units of the Bentayga SUV.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor 

Price: Rs 7.74 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Toyota debuted the Urban Cruiser Taisor, which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Fronx. It is available across five broad trims with similar engine options as the Fronx, including the 77 PS 1.2-litre CNG powertrain. The Taisor also showcases design updates in the form of a tweaked grille and alloy wheels to help it stand apart. It comes equipped with features such as a 9-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a heads-up display.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus 

Price: Rs 11.39 lakh to Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom)

Mahindra launched the Bolero Neo Plus, which was initially offered commercially as an ambulance. You can consider it as an expanded version of the Bolero Neo, featuring a 9-seater layout. It comes with features such as a 9-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth, AUX, and USB connectivity, a 6-speaker sound system, and power windows. Under the hood, the Bolero Neo Plus gets a 118 PS/280 Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 

Price: Rs 67.65 lakh to Rs 71.65 lakh (ex-showroom)

At the end of April, Jeep introduced the facelifted 2024 Wrangler, featuring an updated exterior with a revised grille and alloy wheels. Inside, updates include a more premium cabin and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system, while the Wrangler also gets amenities such as a wireless phone charger, 12-way water resistant powered front-row seats, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, and dual-zone climate control. It is powered by a 270 PS/ 400 Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Mahindra XUV 3XO 

Price: Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 15.48 lakh (ex-showroom)

 With a refreshed design, a more upmarket interior, and new features, the 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO made its debut. New additions to Mahindra's subcompact SUV include a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, and ADAS. The XUV 3XO continues to be offered with two turbo-petrol engine options and a single diesel engine choice.

Force Gurkha 5-door And Updated Gurkha 3-door

Gurkha 3-door Price: Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom)

Gurkha 5-door Price: Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom)

 Force Motors launched the 2024 Gurkha, along with its new 5-door version. Updates to the Gurkha include a 9-inch infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, and a more powerful diesel powertrain. Both models are equipped with a 2.6-litre diesel engine, delivering 140 PS and 320 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. They also feature a four-wheel-drive system with manual front and rear differential locks.

Porsche Cayenne GTS And GTS Coupe 

Price: Rs 2 crore to Rs 2.01 crore (ex-showroom)

The Porsche Cayenne lineup in India got two new additions, the GTS and GTS Coupe, both featuring updated styling and cabin layouts. The Cayenne GTS is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that delivers 500 PS and 660 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both come equipped with features such as a 12.6-inch curved digital driver’s display, a four-zone climate control system, a Burmester audio system, and a range of driver-assist features.

Mercedes-Benz EQA And EQB Facelift 

EQA Price: Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom)
EQB Price: Rs 70.90 lakh to Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

In early July, Mercedes launched two electric SUVs: the EQA and the updated 2024 EQB. The EQA gets a 70.5 kWh battery pack, coupled to a 190 PS/385 Nm single electric motor, delivering a WLTP-claimed range of 560 km. On the other hand, the EQB facelift is offered with two battery pack options: a 66.5 kWh pack paired with 292 PS/520 Nm dual electric motors, and a 70.5 kWh pack paired with a 190 PS/385 Nm electric motor.

 Mercedes-Benz EQA

The smaller unit offers a claimed range of 447 km, while the larger 70.5 kWh unit delivers a claimed range of 535 km in the EQB. With the 2024 facelift, the EQB also adds a 5-seat layout option alongside the 7-seat configuration.

Porsche Macan EV 

Price: Rs 1.22 crore to Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom)

Initially offered only with a single Turbo trim, the Porsche Macan EV received two new variants in the second half of July, including a new entry-level option. The base Macan EV is powered by a 360 PS/563 Nm single electric motor paired with a 100 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 641 km. On the other hand, the mid-spec Macan 4S, produces 516 PS and 820 Nm from its dual electric motors, offering a claimed range of 606 km.

Mini Countryman EV 

Price: Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

Mini introduced the Countryman Electric to our shores, featuring a refreshed design and a minimalist interior. It comes equipped with a 66.4 kWh battery pack paired with a 204 PS/250 Nm single electric motor, delivering a claimed range of 462 km. Within its price bracket, the Countryman Electric rivals the BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo EX40.

Maserati Grecale  

Price: Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom)

Italian carmaker Maserati launched the Grecale SUV at the end of July. It is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options: a up to 330 PS 2-litre unit and a 530 PS 3-litre V6 unit. The latter is available only with the top-spec Trofeo variant, while the entry-level GT and Modena variants are equipped with the 2-litre petrol engine. Maserati is also expected to launch the all-electric Grecale in the near future.

Nissan X-Trail  

Price: Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Nissan reintroduced the X-Trail SUV in India as a fully imported unit. The 2024 X-Trail is powered by a 163 PS/300 Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid technology. It comes equipped with features such as an 8-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera system.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe   

Price: Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom)

In early August, the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe made its debut in India. It features AMG-specific updates such as a larger grille, 21-inch alloy wheels, and a quad-tip exhaust setup that enhance its sportiness. The GLC 43 Coupe is powered by a 421 PS/500 Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

Curvv EV Price: Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom)
Curvv Price: Rs 10 lakh to Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom)

Tata Motors launched its highly anticipated Curvv SUV-coupe in its electric version first, in August. The Curvv EV is available with two battery pack options: a 45 kWh unit offering a claimed range of 502 km, and a 55 kWh unit delivering a claimed range of 585 km. Key features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, connected car technology, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.

 Tata Curvv

In early September, the ICE-powered Curvv made its debut. Compared to its EV counterpart, it features subtle cosmetic updates while retaining the overall SUV-coupe design language. The Curvv can be had with three engine options: a 120 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 125 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, or a 118 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. It also boasts a similar feature set to the Curvv EV. 

Lamborghini Urus SE 

Price: Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom)

Lamborghini debuted the Urus SE with a hybrid powertrain on our shores in the first half of August. It draws power from a 4-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine coupled with a plug-in hybrid system that is also capable of providing electric-only range of 60 km. The combined setup delivers 800 PS and 950 Nm, enabling the Urus SE to sprint from naught to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312 kmph.

Citroen Basalt 

Price: Rs 8 lakh to Rs 13.95 lakh (ex-showroom)

Citroen entered the SUV-coupe space with the launch of the Basalt in India. It is available with either an 82 PS/115 Nm 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine or a 110 PS/205 Nm 1-litre turbo-petrol engine. Feature highlights include a 10.2-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, and a wireless phone charger.

Mahindra Thar Roxx 

Price: Rs 13 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom) 

The first half of August also saw the much-awaited launch of Mahindra's Thar Roxx in India. It features a more modern interior compared to the smaller 3-door model and offers amenities such as ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless phone charger. You can have it with either a up to 177 PS/380 Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol engine or a up to 175 PS/370 Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine.

Audi Q8 Facelift  

Price: Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom) 

The facelifted Audi Q8 made its debut in the latter half of August. It received updates to its exterior, including redesigned bumpers, an updated front grille, and new LED lighting, while the interior remains similar to the pre-facelift model. Top features include four-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats with a massaging function, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.

2024 Hyundai Alcazar

Price: Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 21.54 lakh (ex-showroom)

With a refreshed look and an updated cabin, Hyundai launched the 2024 Alcazar in India. It retains its turbo-petrol and diesel engine options and is offered with both six and seven-seat layout options. New features in the 2024 Alcazar include an electric boss mode, wireless phone chargers for both the first and second rows, and ADAS.

EQS SUV Price: Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom)

Maybach EQS Price: Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom) 

 In September, Mercedes launched two new models: first, the Maybach EQS SUV and then its standard model. The Maybach EQS SUV boasts signature design touches and is offered with a 122 kWh battery pack paired with 658 PS/900 Nm dual electric motors, delivering a claimed range of 611 km. The EQS SUV is available with the same 122 kWh battery pack and dual electric motor setup but produces 544 PS/858 Nm, providing a claimed range of 809 km.

Tata Nexon CNG 

Price: Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14.60 lakh (ex-showroom)

Tata Motors launched the Nexon CNG, equipping it with a factory-fitted CNG kit with the turbo-petrol engine. The Nexon CNG is powered by a 120 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 100 PS and 170 Nm in CNG mode. It also boasts premium features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front-row seats, and automatic AC for added comfort.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II 

Price: Rs 10.50 crore (ex-showroom)

At the end of September, Rolls-Royce debuted the Cullinan Series II in India. It is powered by a 571 PS/850 Nm 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the Cullinan Series II features a dashboard panel with 7,000 laser-etched dots along with a new Spirit of Ecstasy Clock Cabinet, and an 18-speaker sound system.

Kia EV9 

Price: Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom)

Kia launched its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, in India. It comes equipped with features such as ventilated and heated seats for both the front and second rows, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and an 18-way adjustable powered driver's seat. The EV9 is available with a 99.8 kWh battery pack that is paired with 384 PS/700 Nm dual electric motors, and offers a claimed range of 561 km.

2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift

Price: Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom) 

With minor design updates, the 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift made its debut in early October. It also features an updated interior scheme and gets features such as an 8-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, 6 airbags, and a 360-degree camera. The 2024 Magnite retains its two petrol engine options, including the 100 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with 5-speed MT and CVT automatic transmission options.

2024 Mercedes-AMG G63   

Price: Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom)

Mercedes-AMG launched the 2024 G63 facelift with an updated exterior and interior. It gets AMG-specific elements, including updated bumpers, a new set of alloys, and an additional 29 shades over the standard color options. The 2024 G63 is powered by a 4-litre V8 turbo-petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid tech, producing a combined output of 585 PS and 850 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds.

Skoda Kylaq

Price: Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom)

In the first week of November, Skoda announced the starting price of its newest subcompact SUV, the Kylaq. It is offered with a single 1-litre turbo-petrol engine option that produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, mated either to 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Feature highlights include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, and a sunroof.

Mahindra XEV 9e And BE 6 

XEV 9e Starting Price: Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

BE 6 Starting Price: Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

With the launch of the XEV 9e and BE 6, Mahindra expanded its SUV portfolio with two new EVs. Both models stand out with their sporty SUV-coupe design and minimalist interiors, which come equipped with many premium features. Highlights include ventilated powered front-row seats, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone climate control, and a fixed panoramic glass roof.

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6 offer 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack options, providing a claimed range of up to 682 km. Mahindra is expected to announce the full prices of both EVs at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.

Audi Q7 Facelift  

Price: Rs 88.66 lakh to Rs 97.81 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Audi introduced the 2024 Q7 facelift in India during November-end. It features subtle design tweaks and an updated cabin, while retaining the same turbo-petrol engine options. The 3-litre V6 petrol unit in the updated Q7 generates 345 PS and 500 Nm that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Top features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, 19-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, and ADAS.
