Even amongst the two, Kawasaki has clearly occupied the major spot with three of the top 5 bikes best sellers coming from its stable. The Kawasaki Z900 is undoubtedly a fierce street-fighter with ample power on offer to leave you grinning ear to ear. It’s priced at Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and dishes out 125PS and 98.6Nm. It also gets a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, ride modes and LED illumination. Not to mention, the loud and bassy in-line four melody too is a treat.
Speaking of which, the Triumph Tiger 900 has tied up the sales numbers with 34 units being sold. It’s quite evidently becoming a preferred choice for trails and touring as well. Triumph has priced it at Rs 13.70 lakh onwards for the GT variant and goes all the way up to Rs 15.50 lakh for the Rally Pro model. Head here to read our review of the bike.
Apart from the Z900, the recently launched Z650RS and the only litre-class bike of the 5, Ninja 1000 SX have also made it to the list. The middleweight retro-roadster costs Rs 6.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is a treat to the eyes. It’s based on the Z650 and uses the same motor as well.
As for the Ninja 1000 SX, the bike has been a favoured sports tourer and retails at Rs 11.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s loaded with features like 4.3-inch TFT screen, traction control, cruise control, quick shifter, Bluetooth compatibility, riding modes, KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function) and ABS. And just like the Z900, the Ninja 1000 SX too treats you with a meaty exhaust grunt.
Last but not least, Triumph’s middleweight, the Street Triple has also managed to make it to the top 5 names. It’s available in two variants: R and RS. The Street Triple R is priced at Rs 9.15 lakh and the RS costs Rs 11.35 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi). Check out our road test review of the Street Triple R to know more.
