Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has announced the launch of the 2017 model of the Hayabusa (GSX1300R) in the country. The bike receives new colour schemes which include Glass Sparkle Black or Pearl Glacier White (AGT), Pearl Vigor Blue or Glass Sparkle Black (BBD) and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB).
The Suzuki Hayabusa was one of the most powerful and fastest production motorcycle of its time and is still considered amongst the best drag motorcycles. Mechanically, the 2017 Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by the 1,340cc inline-four engine that produces 195PS of power at 9,500rpm and a peak 155Nm of torque at 7,200rpm. The liquid-cooled motor gets features like EFI with dual throttle valve, forged pistons, PVD-coated rings, titanium valves and iridium spark plugs which help enhance performance.
Other features that the bike is likely to offer, are inverted front forks, rear link-type mono shock and wide Bridgestone tyres. The bike also gets three engine settings with Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system, advanced Brembo Monobloc brake calipers and high-performance ABS as standard.
However, the new model also comes with a decreased price tag of Rs 13.88 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) which was possible because of the CKD operation which started in the SMIPL factory in Gurgaon earlier this year. Due to the CKD, sales of the Hayabusa have shown a 100 per cent growth, resulting in a long waiting period. So, to reduce that now the company is focusing to increase the local assembly capacity for the bike.
