Suzuki India has launched the Gixxer SF in the country for Rs 1,09,870. This is a premium of Rs 7,964 over the last-gen model (SFFI with ABS). Along with the 2019 iteration of the fully faired motorcycle, Suzuki also launched the quarter-litre Gixxer SF 250 today.

So, what do you get for the additional money? For starters, the new generation model has received a sporty makeover both in terms of design and ergonomics. It now gets a sharper fairing with angular lines at the front. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF also gets clip-on handlebars, sporty split seat and LED headlamps. The instrument cluster is the same LCD unit as before.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 155cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as before. However, it is now BSVI-ready. Power has gone down by 0.7PS at 14.1PS, while torque output remains unchanged at 14Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Braking hardware consists of front and rear disc, aided by a single-channel ABS system.
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF rivals the Hero Xtreme 200S (Rs 98,500, all prices, ex-showroom). We will be riding the new Gixxers at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida soon, so stay tuned for our first ride report.
