Ducati really knows how to enthral its audience. The Italian bike maker revealed several motorcycles at the World Premiere, which kept many (including us) on the edge of the seats. The manufacturer unveiled the mad Streetfighter V4, the new Panigale V2 and the Multistrada 1260 S GT. And even in the midst of all these new motorcycles, Ducati brought the 2020 Panigale V4 and the V4 S as well.
For MY 2020, Ducati has given the same aerodynamic package to the V4 models as their hardcore version, the V4 R. The updated models get the same wings and cooling vents as the V4 R. Apart from these changes, the front-end is now wider by 76mm compared to the older models and the windscreen slightly taller than before. All these changes have improved the aerodynamics of the V4 and the V4 S quite significantly as there’s 30kg of downforce at 270kmph!
While the 1,103cc motor and the power output (214PS/124Nm) remain the same, Ducati has tweaked the throttle maps for linear power delivery. Moreover, the manufacturer has also updated the suspension setting making it a bit stiffer than before to improve the bike’s handling during corners. We have already ridden the current-gen Panigale V4, but whether the changes on the new one make it better or not is yet to be seen.
The current-gen Panigale V4 is loaded with rider aids such as cornering ABS, wheelie control, launch control, bi-directional quick shifter and more. But, the 2020 models get Ducati’s EVO 2 traction control, which the company says will improve the bike’s handling in corners.
There’s no word from Ducati about its India launch, but we expect the Italian bike maker to bring the updated Panigale V4 and V4 S sometime next year. Currently, the standard Panigale V4 is not on sale, but it will be available in August in the BS6 avatar along with its naked variant, the Streetfighter V4!
