The Italian bike maker known for producing some of the most exquisite motorcycles in the world just teased the devilish Streetfighter V4, days before the Ducati World Première 2020. The bike will be positioned against the new breed of hypernakeds such as the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro and the supercharged Kawasaki ZH2, which is likely to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. If numbers are anything to go by, the Streetfighter V4 is likely to be even more radical than the 1000cc Serie Oro.

The bike’s powered by the same 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 engine that’s seen on the Panigale V4, however, in a slightly different state of tune. In essence, the streetfighter makes 208PS of power—slightly lower down the rev range at 12,750rpm compared to its faired sibling with belts out 214PS at 13,000rpm. To put things into perspective, that’s the same power as the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro but it is crucially 8kg lighter, tipping the scales at 178kg dry.
For better aero, the Streetfighter V4 features ‘Bigplane Wings’ while the entire Ducati electronics suite makes sure you’re always in firm control of this mental naked. On the feature front, the bike’s expected to have full-LED lighting and a full-colour TFT screen, which could be ready to be paired with Ducati’s multimedia system.
Much like the Panigale V4 and many other Ducatis, the Streetfighter V4 too should be arriving in two variants. The standard bike could be specced out with a Showa USD BPF and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock while the S variant might get a top-spec kit from Ohlins, which is electronically adjustable and semi-active. Braking hardware for both variants will be provided by Brembos as Ducati will continue to use top-spec Stylema calipers for the bike.

The Streetfighter V4 will also make its way to India next year just like every other model in Ducati’s portfolio. Expect the standard model to be priced around Rs 22 lakh while the more premium ‘S’ may set you back by around Rs 24 lakh (both ex-showroom prices). Ducati will be officially unveiling the Streetfighter V4 as well as other delectable Italian beauties on October 23. Stay tuned to ZigWheels for all the updates from the event as well as the Tokyo Motor Show, which takes place earlier in the day.
