Even though Kawasaki has various motorcycles on sale in India, there are some models that we wished were part of the catalogue. Case in point, the Kawasaki Z250 and the Z400, which were recently updated for 2021.
What’s new, you ask. Not much actually. This time around, the Japanese manufacturer is only offering new paint schemes for both bikes.
The Z250 is now offered in a new Metallic Spark Black colour. As the name suggests, most parts of the motorcycle are finished in a glossy black shade. In addition, the tank and tail section get bright green graphics, which add a sporty touch to the overall edgy styling.
Coming to the Z400, it comes in two new shades. First, there’s Lime Green, which is quite similar to the Z250’s Metallic Spark Black shade, but with dark green graphics. Our pick, however, is the new Robotic White shade, which wraps the bike in sparkly white paint along with striking red graphics. You may remember this shade since it was also introduced on the 2021 Kawasaki Z650.
Apart from the colours, everything else remains unchanged on both bikes. This means you still get extensive features such as an informative digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, and a slip and assist clutch, all in Kawasaki’s aggressive ‘Sugomi’ design, in line with the bigger Z badged bikes.
What this also means is that the Z250’s 248cc parallel-twin motor and the Z400’s 398cc parallel-twin motor still fail to adhere to Euro 5/BS6 norms, dashing hopes of their India arrival.
On the underpinning front, both bikes employ a trellis frame sprung on a 41mm telescopic fork and a 5-step adjustable monoshock. Helping you put a leash on them are 310mm and 220mm single disc brakes at both ends.
