Kawasaki has launched the 2021 Z650 in the USA. Without tinkering with the innards, Kawasaki has only endowed cosmetic updates on its naked middleweight offering.
Adding new colours to the palette, the Kawasaki Z650 is now available in Metallic Spark Black and Pearl Robotic White. The tank shroud graphics have also been updated for the new model. Everything else remains the same visually.
The 2021 Kawasaki Z650 is powered by a liquid-cooled 649cc parallel-twin motor with the output rated at 68PS and 64Nm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Sprung by a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable horizontal back-link monoshock, the naked 650cc Kwacker gets 300mm twin petal discs at the front and a 220 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Featurewise, the bike is pretty decent. You get an LED headlight and a TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
In the USA, it retails at $7,849 which is approximately Rs 5.72 lakh. On the other hand, the Kawasaki Z650 is currently priced at Rs 6.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. So, it’d be nice to see a splash of new colours and graphics for the Indian model as well, and more so without a higher asking price.
