Official images of the upcoming 2021 KTM RC lineup have been leaked.
All three bikes bear an all-new design language.
The RC 390 gets adjustable front suspension, a TFT instrument cluster, and a rerouted exhaust.
In the past few months, we’ve become quite accustomed to seeing test mules of the 2021 KTM RC lineup. Now, official studio images of the production-spec bikes have been leaked, revealing crucial new information. Here’s a rundown of the same:
2021 KTM RC 390
Even fanboys would agree that the KTM RC 390 is due a significant update, and it’s getting a massive one. The first change that catches the eye is obviously the design. With an all-new headlamp assembly, sharper fairings, a slimmer tail end, a seemingly bigger fuel tank, and an orange-blue paint scheme, the 2021 RC 390 certainly stands out. While the front end might be an eyesore for many, the second half of the bike looks sleeker than the outgoing model. Also, the mirror-mounted indicators and 10-spoke alloys have made way for big LED strip DRLs/indicators and 5-spoke alloys, respectively. Topping all of this is a new livery that merges blue and orange shades, identical to KTM's MotoGP race bike.
Features were once the USP of the KTM RC 390. But that has lost its sheen in recent times, thanks to its tech-heavy rivals like the TVS Apache RR 310. That is why KTM has finally borrowed the 390 Duke’s TFT and switchcube for the 2021 RC 390. This will be a significant step up from the existing bike’s small and dated LCD. Expect it to pack smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation and display call/SMS notifications.
Next up, the underpinnings. The leaked pictures reveal a new fully adjustable WP Apex USD fork up front coupled to the same adjustable monoshock at the rear. Also, the bike now rides on Continental ContiRoad tyres, also found on the KTM 890 Duke! Premium, right? Sadly, these could be the images of the international-spec bike, meaning we might end up getting a non-adjustable USD fork and the same old MRF RevZ C1 tyres, considering import is still an issue because of the pandemic. These would certainly be welcome additions, though, if KTM manages to offer these in India.
We can also spot other changes like the rerouted exhaust system (for better ground clearance), a revised sub-frame, the absence of a belly pan, new premium-looking seat covers, and tweaked ergonomics. No engine updates are expected for the RC 390 since it already adheres to the BS6 norms.

2021 KTM RC 200 and RC 125
Like the RC 390, the RC 200 and RC 125 have also been overhauled. However, judging from the spy shots, these two could pack a halogen headlamp, which would be a downgrade from the twin-projector setup.
Also new for 2021 will be the paint jobs. Both bikes get a new dual-tone white and orange colour with signature orange alloy wheels. The RC 125 additionally gets a new dual-tone black/orange scheme, which we personally find the most appealing.
Along with this, both bikes will offer a USD fork, a bigger digital instrument cluster (most likely similar to the 250 ADV), new premium seat covers, and an updated sub-frame like the 2021 RC 390.
All these changes would certainly come at a price. Expect all three bikes to get a hike of about Rs 7,000 - Rs 8,000. This will make them quite expensive in the market, considering all three recently received a massive price hike. The KTM RC 390, RC 200, and RC 125 retail at Rs 2.77 lakh, Rs 2.08 lakh, and Rs 1.80 lakh, in that order. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
