India launch of the new RC range is expected around this year’s festive season

[UPDATE: KTM has launched the new RC 200 and RC 125 in India, with prices starting from Rs 1.82 lakh. For full details, check out our launch story.]

  • KTM is set to unveil the 2021 RC range today.

  • The updated RC family will come with a brand new design language.

  • The next-generation KTM RCs will receive a host of new features and mechanical updates.

After dropping an official teaser that read “Coming Soon” just a few days ago, KTM is set to unveil the 2021 RC 125, RC 200, and RC 390 today, in a matter of hours. This announcement was made by Rok Bagoros on social media, who’s been closely associated with KTM as its official stunt rider.

While the official reveal takes place today, we already know quite a lot about the new RC lineup, thanks to the recently leaked photos. Firstly, the bikes will get an all-new design, bidding adieu to their twin-projector-equipped fascia. In its place will be a new single headlamp, bigger visor, and sleek boomerang-shaped LED DRL-cum-indicators.

Then we have the updated feature list, including a new TFT instrument cluster (equipped with smartphone connectivity) and new switch cubes to access it. However, we believe the India-spec RC 125 and RC 200 could come with an LCD setup borrowed from the 250 Adventure.

Other changes include lighter alloy wheels, a reworked sub-frame, more muscular fairings, and new split seats with Alcantara-like covers. For all the details, check out our in-depth story.

Since all three bikes already boast segment-topping power figures, we think no updates will be made to their engines. That said, if KTM does manage to extract more juice, we’ll always welcome it with open arms.

The 2021 RC range is expected to arrive in India around Diwali this year, at a premium of about Rs 6,000 - Rs 7,000 over the current prices. This would make all three bikes considerably dearer than their rivals, but we hope the new components somehow justify the premium.
