Here Are All The New Features In The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio

• The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will likely launch early next year.
• Will be provided with 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines.
• The new Scorpio will likely be priced from Rs 13 lakh.

For the first time ever, we’ve seen the new Scorpio’s dashboard undisguised ahead of its launch. While the layout is simple, there are a few new features, including: 

• First-in-segment dual-zone climate control. 

• Larger touchscreen infotainment (probably with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected car tech). 

• A coloured multi-info display.

• A sunroof. 

• LED lighting.

The 2022 SUV should retain features, including cruise control, remote locking, rear AC vents, and static cornering headlamps. Passenger safety in the existing model is secured by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera. The next-gen Scorpio could take this a notch higher with side and curtain airbags and electronic stability control. 

The dash sports a minimalistic design. The AC vents are now vertically placed (and not horizontally like that in the existing model), flanking the infotainment system. Right below it are the dual-zone climate and hazard controls, features borrowed from the new Mahindra Thar. The glossy black plastic and brushed aluminium inserts add to the stylish cabin experience.

More powerful versions of the Thar’s 150PS 2.0-litre petrol and 130PS 2.2-litre diesel engines will do duties in the Scorpio, paired with 6-speed manual and optional 6-speed automatic transmissions. The 2022 SUV was also spotted dune-bashing, hinting at the return of a four-wheel drive (possibly with both engine options). 

The next-gen Scorpio will likely go on sale by early 2022, possibly starting from around Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra SUV is a rugged three-row alternative to the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
