Jaguar Land Rover India (JLRI) has launched the all-new XF at a starting price of Rs 49.50 lakh for the diesel base variant and Rs 62.10 lakh for the top of the line diesel variant. The premium business sedan is available in three trims, with both petrol and diesel engine options. Notably, the petrol variant is available only in the top two trim options. Bookings for the second-generation XF have already begun at all Jaguar dealerships while deliveries are scheduled to start by the end of September.
Speaking on the launch, Rohit Suri, president, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said: “Over the years, Jaguar XF has gained immense popularity and success in the Indian market and we are excited to offer the all-new Jaguar XF to our discerning and distinguished customers passionate about owning a Jaguar.”
The all-new Jaguar XF makes use of Lightweight Aluminum Architecture which makes it significantly lighter, stronger and 28 per cent stiffer than its predecessor. Extensive use of aluminium has been made to form the side of the body, the bonnet and the front wings of the business sedan. In terms of styling, the 2016 XF receives sharper lines highlighting the character on the sedan. The car gets re-sculptured bumpers with larger air scoops on the front. The headlamps receive an all-LED setup with Jaguar’s signature ‘J’ blade Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), while the rear also gets the LED treatment with design inspiration taken from the F-Type.
Being a premium business sedan, Jaguar has updated the interiors by creating more leg and knee room for the rear passengers. The seats come draped in premium leather of the highest quality while Mood Lighting offers a choice of 10 colours that can be configured.
Under the hood, the XF comes powered by Jaguar’s latest Ingenium 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that develops 180PS of max power at 4000rpm and 430Nm of peak torque. The new Ingenium engine is up to 20kg lighter than the previous generation motors, thanks to its all-aluminium construction resulting in improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The petrol variant of the new Jaguar XF sports a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, turbocharged motor that puts out 240PS of max power at 5500rpm and 340Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
