South Korean automaker Kia’s latest offering, the Syros, has started arriving at select showrooms across India ahead of its launch slated for 1 February 2025. It brings a raft of features, including some new features that were not available in the sub-four metre space. Also on offer are two engine options with a choice of 3 transmission options. The Syros is available in 6 variants, namely HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and HTX Plus (O). Additionally, there are 8 single-tone colours on offer, such as Sparkling Silver, Frost Blue, Imperial Blue, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, and Aurora Black Pearl.

Kia has bestowed the Syros with a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch driver display, a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, (all displays housed in a single panel), paddle shifters, puddle lamps, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, 64 colour ambient lighting, an air purifier, ventilated front and rear seats, LED headlights with follow-me-home function, auto-dimming IRVM, updated connected car tech, and 4-way powered driver’s seat.

It comes equipped with several advanced safety features, such as a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor; front, side, and rear parking sensors; level 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake with auto hold, rear disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), brake assist, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, and 6 airbags as standard equipment.

The prices of the Syros are expected to range between Rs 9.70 and Rs 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Although it does not directly compete with any sub-four metre SUV due to its premium placement, the segment contenders are Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra 3XO and Skoda Kylaq are its closest rivals. Not only that, the Syros also takes on compact SUVs, namely the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, and the Citroen Basalt.
