Audi has introduced A8L in India with a face lift and a host of cosmetic changes with more efficient engines. The luxury saloon, Audi A8L, is being launched at a two day exotic event in Dubai at the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa over the weekend. The event was attended by prominent Indian socialites, entrepreneurs and even celebrities; the most prominent being Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage.

The new Audi A8L gets minor design changes including the optional Matirx LED headlamps, plusher interiors and revised dampers to improve ride quality. Speaking during the launch of the new Audi A8L, Joe King, Head, Audi India said, “With the launch of the new Audi A8L, I am confident that we will further consolidate our leadership position in the market.” To make the premium car more appealing, Audi India is offering a host of customisation options to its customers. This includes an impressive 100 exterior colours, 23 options of interior colours and 12 different wood finish to choose from. Joe further added that the company is offering intricate personalisation and can even emboss the new Audi A8L’s seats with the customer’s personal logo.

The engine line-up has also been tweaked to churn out more power and at the same time improve efficiency. India will get two diesel engines – the 3.0-litre TDI producing 250PS and the highly powerful 385PS, 4.2-litre TDI. The sole petrol option will be the 4.0-litre TFSI which develops an impressive 435PS. The three engines will come mated to eight-speed Triptronic automatic gearbox.

Just like the out-going model, the new Audi A8L will be imported to India via the CBU (Completely  Built Unit), and hence would attract additional duties which in turn, adds to the price of the car. The new Audi A8L is now available in Audi showrooms across India and for now the company has just announced the price of its base 3.0-litre TDI model, which starts at Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai).
