Audi has posted teasers of an upcoming model for India on their Facebook page, which we have recognised as the refreshed RS5 performance car for the 2013 model year.
The refreshed Audi RS5 continues to be powered by the 4.2-litre FSI engine that develops 456PS of power and 430Nm torque and can power the luxury sports coupe from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and onwards to an electronically limited top speed of 280km/h. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox that can shift gears automatically, while the driver can take control via paddle shifters for manual gear changes during sporty driving.
While its powertrain remains the same, the 2013 model features cosmetic enhancements such as new angular headlamps with daytime running LEDs that are in tune with Audi’s new family look. The car gets more pronounced bonnet contours, new LED tail lights, restyled front and rear bumpers and a new design for the 19-inch alloy wheels.
Interior styling changes include a new flat-bottomed RS three-spoke steering wheel along with detailing tweaks to the air conditioning controls, Multi Media Interface, mirror adjustment and electric window switchgear, the gear lever and the instrument stalks. The most noticeable enhancements are the addition of Bluetooth phone connectivity, cruise control, a DVD-based satellite navigation and iPod connection to the standard equipment list for this updated model.
The current Audi RS5 is priced at Rs 96.05 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), so expect the 2013 model’s price to hover around the crore mark in India.
