Audi RS6 launched in India

Audi has launched the RS6 Avant in India at Rs 1.35 crore, ex-showroom Delhi. The RS6 Avant is the high powered station wagon version of the A6 sedan appealing to a new set of enthusiasts that have been untapped by premium carmakers till now. These prospective customers looking for a mix of performance, practicality and a relatively understated car can now have another body choice besides high performance SUVs.

Powering the RS6 Avant is a 4.0-litre TFSI twin turbo V8 pumping out a colossal 560PS of power and 700Nm of torque. All that power and torque is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive system. The RS6 Avant is quick enough to shame sportscars. It can do the 0-100kmph sprint in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 305kmph.

On the styling front, the RS6 Avant will give you a sneak peak into the upcoming A6 facelift. Sleek LED headlights leading into the trapezoidal front grille with the RS6 logo nestled in and the trdemark Quattro badge etched in, sporty bumper with gaping air intakes, strong shoulders, contrast mirror paint and 20 inch alloy wheels. The rear is typically neat Audi fare with a version of the A6’s lights for the Wagon, two large exhausts split between a carbon fibre rear diffuser.

The RS6 Avant gets cylinder management technology for better efficiency, sports suspension with dynamic ride control and optional ceramic brake discs for better stopping performance. Following the RS6 Avant, Audi plans to launch the Q3 and A6 facelifts and the all-new Q7 in India this year.
