Weirdly enough sales figures for the BMW G 310 twins haven’t been registered for FY 2020-21

The COVID-19 pandemic had a severe impact on the two-wheeler industry in FY 2020-21. It led to a shortage of spare parts, disruption of exports, interruptions across large-scale manufacturing, and temporary closure of assembly plants to contain the spread of the virus. The downward shift in the economy didn’t help either.

That said, the industry bounced back rather quickly once the economy showed signs of recovery. Sure, certain models did suffer in terms of sales, but others made the most of the situation thanks to timely updates and various offers rolled out by manufacturers. So without further ado, here are the best selling bikes in the 250cc to 350cc segment, starting from the least popular model here:

7. Mahindra Mojo

Let’s face it, none of us expected the Mahindra Mojo to be up here. But the bike actually raked in better sales during the pandemic than it did last financial year. To put things into perspective, Mahindra sold 274 units last year compared to 251 units the year before. That may be a small triumph for Mahindra, but it’s good enough for the 7th spot.

6. TVS Apache RR 310 BS6

TVS has been constantly improving its flagship product, the Apache RR 310, ever since it was launched back in 2017. Necessary improvements along with crucial feature updates led to the BS6 RR 310 being one of the best bikes we rode in 2020 and the sales numbers speak for themselves. TVS sold 3,379 units last year as opposed to 2,299 in 2019. With the new update set to be rolled out soon, we can only expect this number to improve even further. Kudos TVS!

5. Honda H’Ness CB350

Yes, Honda finally took a break from its commuter-centric strategy and gave us a taste of its affordable premium lineup, with the H’Ness CB350 being the first of them. And as you’d expect, the bike was well received by everyone looking for a classic yet reliable roadster. Honda managed to sell 18,034 units of this beauty since its launch in September 2020. With the new CB350RS in the picture, we can expect higher sales numbers.

4. Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Royal Enfield continues to dominate the 350cc segment with its classic portfolio. In a span of less than five months, the bikemaker managed to sell 39,893 units of the Meteor 350 -- a remarkable feat for a bike that was newly introduced into the market. The Meteor’s market share alone is more than the Mojo, RR 310, and CB350 combined.

3. Royal Enfield Bullet Electra Twinspark

The only bike from Royal Enfield’s portfolio that did better in FY 2020 than 2019 is the Bullet Electra, which seems to be a favourite among classic enthusiasts. The company sold 50,579 units of the Electra -- 5,034 more than the previous fiscal year.

2. Royal Enfield Bullet 350

Then comes the standard Bullet 350, which reeled in sales of 98,008 units between 2020 and 2021. While that sounds amazing, it’s actually 32,744 units less than what the bikemaker sold the year before.

1. Royal Enfield Classic 350

This list is obviously incomplete without the top-selling model, the Classic 350, which pretty much annihilated its competition. Despite the pandemic, Royal Enfield managed sales of 3,61,140 units in FY 2020-21. In comparison, though, it sold 398,144 units between 2019 and 2020.
