They have also gained 2kg
  • The bikes were said to be available from April 1 but they might have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • No other mechanical changes reported.
  • Despite the weight gain, the Jawa is much lighter than its chief rival: the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
  • Jawa has finally released the BS6 specs of both of its 293cc models: the Jawa and the Forty Two. We were unsure whether there would be any change in performance on the BS6 Jawas as the 293cc single-cylinder engine was already BS6-ready. Sadly, there is a small drop in performance. The 293cc mill now puts out 26.51PS and 27.05Nm, a drop of just 0.86PS and 0.95Nm. It is still considerably more powerful than its competition -- the Royal Enfield Classic 350 -- that makes a mere 19.3PS.

The new BS6 Jawa and Jawa Forty Two tip the scales at 172kg each, which is a small gain of 2 kilos. Earlier, the Jawa website was showing a much higher number that has since been rectified. It remains a light motorcycle, 23kg lighter than the Classic 350.

The Jawas have become a lot pricier in their BS6 avatar with the price premium ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,928, depending on the colour model. To know about the new BS6 prices of the Jawas, check out this story.
