Royal Enfield has been spotted testing the next-gen Classic 350 multiple times and we’ve uncovered some interesting details in the process. The upcoming BS6-compliant version will feature a digi-analogue instrument cluster, revised switchgear and LED DRLs. All of which tells us that the bikes in these images certainly aren’t the BS6 Classic 350. So what are they, then?
Well, the brand recently introduced its ‘Make Your Own’ factory customisation program for the Classic 350, and what you see here are the first customised motorcycles that have now started arriving at dealerships. The bikes in question feature new tank decals, alloy wheels and quilted seats -- all of which are customisation options on the company’s online configurator.
The rest of the motorcycle is unchanged, which means that the engine continues to be the 346cc BS4-compliant UCE unit churning out 20.7PS and 28Nm. This ageing motor uses a carburettor, while the new BS6 motor will feature fuel injection -- another tell-tale sign that this isn’t the next-gen Classic. Other accessories available on the configurator include luggage, crash protection, exhaust systems and cosmetic enhancements.
