Ducati will launch the upcoming Multistrada V4 in international markets in 2021
  • The Multistrada V4 is powered by the same 1,103cc motor seen on the Panigale V4.
  • Ducati will tune this motor to meet Euro 5/BS6 emission norms.
  • It could be launched in two variants: standard and S.
  • We were hoping Ducati would showcase the highly anticipated Multistrada V4 at the 2019 EICMA or the Ducati World Premiere, but the Italian bike maker chose to bring its 2020 model lineup and a bunch of other new motorcycles. But no sign of the Multi V4. Now though, the upcoming Multistrada V4 has been spotted giving us a much closer look at the flagship motorcycle in the Multistrada range.

Ducati hasn’t altered the design drastically, but it has made some tweaks to help differentiate it from the Multistrada range. The test mule is seen with a new LED headlamp unit, a slightly restyled fairing, and new mirrors. The major change between the Multistrada V4 and the other variants is the rear sub-frame.

What you can also see is the new exhaust system, hinting that the Multistrada V4 is Euro 5/BS6 compliant. Yes, this is the same 1,103cc engine seen on Panigale V4 and the insane Streetfighter V4. But it is likely to be a bit underpowered to match its road-biased adventure tourer character.

The upcoming Multistrada V4 could be offered in two variants: base and a top-of-the-line S variant, which could come equipped with Ducati’s Skyhook suspension setup and a host of electronic goodies. What electronic goodies? Well, rumours suggest Ducati is working on radar-based tech to help riders detect blind spots.

Ducati wants to maximise the potential of its V4 engine and thus, we are now on the verge of getting the third V4-powered model. But the question is when? Ducati has confirmed the Multistrada V4 will hit showrooms by 2021, so there’s quite some time left for Ducati to test every nut and bolt of this motorcycle. However, we can expect the bike maker to showcase the production version of the flagship Multistrada at the upcoming EICMA.
