Waiting for the 2020 Audi A6? Well, we have some good news for you. The premium luxury sedan is slated to launch in India on October 24. Select dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for a token of Rs 5 lakh. Sources have also told us that the 2020 A6 is expected to be a petrol-only model. This comes as a surprise as all of the A6’s rivals have a diesel engine option. 

The engine that is expected to do duty is the base 2.0-litre TFSI engine that develops 248PS of power and 370Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and could be offered here in the front-wheel drive guise. Nonetheless, we also expect Audi to offer the tried-and-tested 2.0-litre TDI engine at a later date.

The styling of the eighth-generation A6 is evolutionary and comes with sharper lines and creases. The front end is dominated by a horizontal slat hexagonal grille that gets a dose of chrome flanked by sleek LED headlamps. Below it are the airdams that also get a tinge of the shiny stuff. In profile, you’ll notice that the window line looks similar to the current car while dual-tone alloys add bling. At the rear, the upcoming model comes with new LED tail lamps that are connected by a thin chrome strip.

Inside, the 2020 A6 is the first Audi in India to come with the all-screen dashboard. The central console is dominated by twin touch screens that take care of the infotainment and climate control duties. You also get Audi’s all-digital Virtual Cockpit that ups the premium quotient. The dashboard is draped in leather with piano black trims, and aluminium and wood inserts.

Notable features in the 2020 Audi A6 include the MMi infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, quad-zone climate control, Audi’s drive select, park assist, powered front seats as well as Audi’s connected car-tech feature. Expected safety features include eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability program, traction control, electric parking with auto hold and more.
