Who says BS6 updates have to be a bad thing? We’ve just gotten our hands on the engine specifications for BS6 versions of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and RS200, and we’ve got some good news for you. While most motorcycles have been losing engine output in the process of BS6 updates, the RS200 has managed to retain its power figure of 24.5PS.
Better still, the NS200 will actually gain 1PS, up from 23.5 to 24.5PS. This is a direct consequence of the addition of a fuel-injection system, which is necessary in order to meet the stricter emission regulations. Since the RS is already fuel-injected in its BS4 form, it doesn’t see any increase.
Torque figures haven’t been revealed but we hope Bajaj has managed to work some magic and give us 18.6Nm on both models. Overall dimensions have also remained the same, but we suspect the two Pulsars will put on a couple of kilos as part of this update. This is down to the addition of an extra catalytic converter to help clean up tailpipe emissions.
The official launch of both bikes is not too far away, we expect them to hit the market by the end of this month. But that pressing question still remains - how much will these updates cost? Well, head here to know the price of the NS200 BS6. We’ve also managed to learn the going rate of the RS200 BS6, and that’s available here.
