It carries a small price hike over the BS4 variant

[UPDATEKTM’s Entire India Model Lineup Is Now BS6-compliant!]

  • No mechanical changes reported.
  • The 250 Duke arrives in two new colours.
  • Bookings set to commence shortly.

After launching the 390 Adventure, the KTM 250 Duke becomes the brand’s first existing model to be upgraded to the BS6 emission norms. According to our sources, it will now arrive with a sticker price of Rs 2 lakh, which is a small increment of Rs 4,000 over the BS4 model. Bookings for the updated quarter-litre Duke are set to begin as we can expect these to hit KTM dealerships soon.

One of the main reasons why the price of the BS6 model has not gone up by a significant margin is because there are no mechanical changes to the 250 Duke. The naked dons two new colour schemes, black/orange and grey/black, the latter being our pick of the two. In fact the grey/black colour scheme also has the rear subframe painted grey to match the colour on the tank extensions.

Although details regarding the engine output are yet to be known, the 248.8cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor made 30PS and 24Nm in its BS4 avatar. Considering the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are already BS6-compliant and do not see any change in power or torque figures when compared to its Austrian cousin, we can safely say that there will not be any difference in the BS6 250 Duke as well.

Currently, there are no quarter-litre motorcycles that meet the emission norms. The Husqvarna 250s will arrive in a month or two while we await updates from Yamaha and Suzuki for their 250s.
