If you’re a die-hard automotive enthusiast, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is known as the most coveted automotive event in the country, has it all for you. Alongside exciting showcases of new-age cars and modern concepts, some of the biggest brands, like BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and BYD, brought their finest machines to life, engaging the audience in a jaw-dropping and adrenaline-filled experience in New Delhi. From drifting to tank turns, here is a quick rundown of all the madness that took place around out there.
Staring among this madness was the Porsche Macan EV that was put on the autocross track filled with tight corners and slaloms. The Macan EV’s precise handling and 1,130 Nm torque output were a thrill-filled experience for the audience out there. It showcased that electric vehicles could also be potent corner-carving machines. Available in three variants, the Macan EV is equipped with a 95 kWh battery pack and retails with a price range between Rs 1.21 crore and Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom).
The iconic ‘G Wagen’ just got electric, and it turned heads at this Auto Expo showcasing an impressive tank turn, dubbed as ‘G-turn.’ It involved the boxy SUV spinning in a single place like a tank, utilising its four wheels being controlled individually. Watching the electric G-Wagon do this stunt on a rather dusty platform wowed the audience quite a lot. The G-Class electric, in any way, is expected to carry on its ICE sibling’s tremendous off-roading capabilities, that too with its impressive electric drivetrain. With a 116 kWh battery and a claimed range of 455 km, it is launched at a price of Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom).
Rounding up this spectacle were two BMW M-Sport cars shredding some serious rubber in a heart-pounding drift show. The roaring engines and screeching tyres reverberated throughout the arena at Pragati Maidan while the two cars slid sideways in perfect harmony. The synchronised drift of the red and the grey M-sport was a visual treat, leaving the audience to cheer for more. Plenty of thanks to the impeccable control of the men behind the wheels and of course – the two four-wheel beasts.
As typically seen in many EV launches, recently with the Harrier EV making an entry without someone in the driving seat, the newly introduced BYD Yangwang U8 executed a tank turn without human intervention with full precision and control. For non-enthusiasts and kids alike, this is nothing short of automotive magic. This large, full-size SUV is unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon, but if it does, it could be an electric alternative to the likes of the Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 truly lends out some thrilling, action-packed automotive madness in New Delhi. The Motorshow commenced on January 17 and will be open until January 22nd. If the date didn’t run out, we recommend giving it a visit and enjoying the automotive diligence on display. If you did experience the craziness, share your experience with us in the comments below.
