Honda organised a special Big-Bike Weekend ride for its Honda customers. It was the first Winter Big-Bike Weekend event for the 2015 season. The ride map for the Big-Bike ride was from Delhi to Jaipur. Honda performance bike owners of Goldwing, CBR 1000 RR, CB 1000R and CBR 650F participated in the event. Honda said they plan to organise many such Big-Bike ride for Honda motorcycle owners across the country. With the Honda CBR 650F its performance motorcycle range, Honda believes the number of participants will significantly grow and the Big-Bike group will be among the biggest performance motorcycle groups in the country. The Honda CBR 650F has been priced at Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and is the largest displacement motorcycle to be locally assembled by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI). Being a performance tourer, the Honda CBR 650F gets an aerodynamic fairing to shield the rider from windblast.
Talking about riding posture, the clip-on bars and rear-set footpegs result in a sporty but comfy riding posture as it isn’t overly aggressive like superbikes. The bike houses a 649cc, liquid-cooled, in-line-four motor pumping out 87PS at 11,000rpm and 63Nm at 8,000rpm. The motor is mated to a six-speed transmission and power is transmitted to the real wheel via chain drive. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the back. Given the performance on tap, Honda has equipped the motorcycle with twin disc brake at front and a single disc brake unit at the rear. The Honda CBR 650F will compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Benelli TNT 600GT.
