All Jawas Get Small Price Revisions

Jawa’s popular motorcycles, the standard Jawa BS6 and the Jawa Forty Two BS6 have started arriving at dealerships across the country after their official launch in March 2020. The coronavirus pandemic, coupled with the BS6 transition, is likely to have caused this delay. The specifications of the motorcycles were revealed recently.

The BS6-compliant Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are 2kg heavier now due to the additional emission restricting components in the exhaust system. Both bikes tip the scales at 172kg, kerb. The BS6-compliant 293cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine in the two bikes makes 26.51PS and 27.05Nm. That’s a reduction of 0.86PS and 0.95Nm over the BS4-compliant version. The routing of the exhaust system seems to have remained unchanged, apart from the additional catalytic converter near the exhaust downtube. Besides these changes, the rest remains the same.

The Jawa goes up against the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in its price bracket whereas the more affordable Jawa Forty Two competes against the Bajaj Dominar 250. Another notable rival for both the bikes in the retro segment is the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
