Ever since the iconic brand Jawa made a comeback, it has been a hot topic among Indian bikers. After a prolonged wait, the first few Jawa bikes were delivered last month. However, majority of the buyers, who booked their motorcycles months back, are yet to receive them.
And now, we have found out the waiting periods for Jawa motorcycles in a few metro and tier 1 cities through our sources and it doesn’t look very good. Waiting periods for the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two vary between five to nine months, depending on the city of purchase. This means prospective clients who book their bikes now might have to wait till late 2019 to get deliveries for their bikes. Jawa hasn’t specified the reason for the delay yet and we hope the company ramps up production at its Pithampur plant so as to reduce waiting periods.

While three bikes were unveiled at the brand launch in November 2018, only the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two are currently on sale. The base Jawa Forty Two retails for Rs 1.55 lakh, while its dual-channel ABS model is priced at Rs 1.64 lakh. The Jawa, on the other hand, carries a sticker price of Rs 1.64 lakh, while its dual-channel ABS model retails for Rs 1.73 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will also inaugurate its 100th dealership in India this week.
