The add-ons will bolster the capabilities of what is an already potent 4x4 off-roader
  • The Wrangler’s suspension will be lifted by 1.5 inches to accommodate the large wheels.

  • It will also be capable of an industry-first 100:1 crawl ratio.

  • The extra fittings and tuning will improve the Wrangler’s ground clearance, water fording capabilities, and approach and departure angles.

  • Jeep will introduce the optional package at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show on July 14.

Jeep has announced its plans to introduce a new optional performance package for the Wrangler, called the Xtreme Recon Package.

While the Wrangler’s off-road creds are already well established, this additional boost will likely better its capabilities on the dirt. As part of the package, the Wrangler will come with factory-fitted 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 rubber fitted on 17x8-inch beadlock-capable wheels, a 4.56:1 axle ratio, have its suspension lifted by 1.5 inches in the factory with specifically tuned shocks, and a 100:1 crawl ratio (Jeep claims this feature to be an industry-first).

This results in some impressive numbers, including around 328mm ground clearance, 853mm of water-fording capabilities, a 47.4-degree approach angle, and a 40.4-degree departure angle. The package will be available with the Wrangler Rubicon 4-door and the V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392.

Currently, there’s no official word on whether this package will be available for the Wrangler sold  in India or not. Its price will likely be announced when it is introduced on July 14 at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show.
