The Kia Syros has been confirmed to launch on February 1, along with its full variant-wise price list. Bookings for this much-anticipated Kia SUV, sitting as India’s most premium offering in the sub-compact segment, begin at midnight and at your nearest dealerships on January 03, ahead of its showcase at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo starting from January 17. If you are putting your name down for one, expect to take delivery of this Kia starting from mid-February onwards.

That said, if you are eager to know about the premiumness set within the Syros, here are all the handy details you should know ahead of its launch:

Kia Syros: Looks And Features

The Kia Syros is slotted between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s lineup. It is being offered in a total of six different trims including HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). In terms of colour options you get to choose from eight hues in its palette, namely Frost Blue, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, Glacier White and Aurora Black.

Syros vs Exter

The Syros calls for a category of its own, thanks to its premium set of features, which we’ll come to next, and of course its all-new styling in the brand’s latest design philosophy, reminiscent of their flagship EV9. That said, the Syros looks unlike any other SUV on Indian roads lately. It's boxy, rugged, and muscular from all angles, with new design elements such as vertically stacked headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs and taillights, and flush-type door handles along the profile. If you’re wondering how big it exactly is, this is how it measures on paper:

Length

3,995 mm

Width

1,805 mm

Height

1,680 mm

Wheelbase

2,550 mm

Wheel-size

17-inch

Moving to its cabin, the Syros offers three dual-tone interior themes, complemented by ambient lighting accents. The layout is newly designed and distinct from the Sonet and Seltos, though it takes subtle inspiration from the Carnival and EV9.

In terms of features, the Syros has loads of it. Key highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, a four-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 64-color ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats with sliding and reclining function for back occupants as well, an 8-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger and one-touch auto up/down functionality for all windows.

Safety-wise the Syros gets all the features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, a dual dashcam setup, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality and level-2 ADAS.

Kia Syros: What’s Under The Hood

The Syros draws out two engine options from the Sonet, albeit with slightly different transmission choices:

Engine

1-litre turbo-petrol

1.5-litre diesel

Power

120 PS

116 PS

Torque

172 Nm

250 Nm

Transmission

6-speed manual, 7-speed dual clutch automatic

6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic

While we’ll have to wait sometime more for the full prices of the Syros, we expect it to start from the mark of around Rs 9.7 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apparently, it doesn't have any direct rivals, but it should give fight to a range of sub-4 metre and compact SUVs, including the Tata Nexon and Curvv, Hyundai Venue and Creta, Maruti Brezza and Grand Vitara, as well as the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
