The Kia Syros was recently unveiled as the latest premium sub-compact SUV. The SUV is offered in six different variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O), and comes with two engine options, namely the 1-litre turbo-petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Sonet.
While we’ve previously covered the variant-wise features of the Syros, this time, we’ll take a look at how the engine options and transmission choices are distributed across the trims:
The Kia Syros inherits two of the Sonet’s engine options, albeit with slightly different transmission choices. The 1-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 120 PS and 172 Nm, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers 116 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission options vary across the six trims, including a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. A detailed breakdown is provided below:

The top-spec trim of the Syros does not offer a manual gearbox altogether and only features a 7-speed DCT for the turbo petrol and a 6-speed torque converter automatic with the diesel.
The Kia Syros offers a range of modern features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, a four-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 64-color ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats, an 8-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, and auto up/down functionality for all windows.
In terms of safety, it comes equipped with six standard airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, a dual dashcam setup, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and level-2 ADAS.
