KTM is all set to start the festive season with a bang as the images of the 250 Adventure’s launch presentation have just leaked online. Expect the Austrian bikemaker to make a formal announcement in a few days. It is likely to be priced at around Rs 2.40 lakh, making it less expensive by around Rs 64,000 than the 390 Adventure. In comparison with its naked sibling, the 250 Duke, the KTM 250 Adventure would be around Rs 35,000 more expensive. It will be available in two colours: orange and black.

For the added premium, you get the KTM 390 Adventure-like styling, albeit with a halogen headlamp setup, like the last-gen 250 Duke. But when it comes to the cockpit, it gets a proper TFT cluster unlike the LCD unit in the 250 Duke. Powering this motorcycle is the same engine as the 250 Duke, which is a 250cc single-cylinder BS6-compliant motor, churning out 30PS and 24Nm. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed transmission but it remains to be seen whether it will have revised ratios or not.
Underpinnings are similar to its older sibling, the 390 Adventure. It retains the same trellis frame linked to an inverted front fork (non-adjustable, like the India-spec 390 Adventure) and rear monoshock, with disc brakes and switchable ABS.
The KTM 250 Adventure will essentially bridge the gap between the spartan Royal Enfield Himalayan and the premium BMW G 310 GS BS6. It will also allow KTM to allure riders who find the 390 Adventure a bit too expensive. You can read all the finer details of the Austrian quarter-litre adventure tourer here.
