Still not sold on the Austrian ADV? You might want to check these options out

In an unprecedented move, KTM India has slashed the price of the 250 Adventure by a massive Rs 25,000 for a limited period. At Rs 2.30 lakh, it is now almost at the same price as the KTM 250 Duke. That said, there are some interesting options available in this price range if you aren’t too keen on the KTMs.

Royal Enfield Himalayan: Rs 2.09 lakh to Rs 2.13 lakh
For anyone who intends to spend long hours on the saddle, you can’t go wrong with the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Apart from the proven off-road cred, the 2021 model even offers navigation as standard, something that the KTM doesn’t. Though the ADV has become slightly expensive this month onwards, you still save a healthy amount over the KTM 250 Adventure. With all the moolah you save, you could kit up your Himalayan with some of these accessories, and still have some change left.

Bajaj Dominar 400: Rs 2.11 lakh
Bigger and more powerful engine, comfortable ergonomics and a wide service network-- the Bajaj Dominar 400 is an equally enticing option if you plan on exploring the vast expanse of the country. In fact, Bajaj may soon come with a bunch of official accessories to make the Dominar 400 touring friendly.

BS6 BMW G 310 R: Rs 2.50 lakh onwards
After BMW slashed the prices of its entry-level naked, it has been hard to resist the charm of the G 310 R. A new LED headlight, span-adjustable levers, ride-by-wire throttle and a slip-and-assist clutch are amongst the many nifty updates that the BS6 model sports. Of course, the dated dash and the cost associated with spares and repairs may be a put-off for some, but if that isn’t the case for you, the baby Beemer is definitely worth considering. Here’s our road test review to help you take the call.

BS6 CFMoto 300NK: Rs 2.29 lakh
Earlier this year, CFMoto made a comeback by launching its entry-level naked in BS6 guise. The company even managed to retain the price tag of the BS4 model. Designed by the same studio that designs KTMs, the CFMoto 300NK has some European pedigree to it. The bike is powered by a 292cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor putting out 28PS and 25Nm. However, with just five dealerships in the country at the moment, the limited service and dealer network will surely affect the buying decision.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 250: Rs 2.10 lakh
The Swedish sibling of the 250 Adventure is not good at touring and is likely to be slightly uncomfortable for commuting as well. But if you are looking for a lifestyle product, nothing comes close to the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 at this price. The bike has clean lines and a perfect blend of neoteric and retro elements. It sports the same 248cc single pot engine belting out 30PS and 24Nm-- and coupled with its 152kg (dry) weight, it sure is a great companion for the weekend jaunts on the twisties.
