Land Rover has launched the Landmark edition of the Range Rover Evoque at £39,000 (Rs 32.5 lakh) to mark the 6-lakh production milestone of the Evoque at the Halewood plant in the UK. The milestone, along with the best-ever monthly sales of almost 18,000 units, was achieved in six years since it went on sale in the United Kingdom. Bookings for the Evoque Landmark open on May 10 after it makes its international premiere at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The Landmark edition is available in the exclusive Moraine Blue colour, which is said to have taken inspiration from the turquoise lakes of the Rocky Mountains in Canada. Yulong White and Corris Grey are other exterior colour options available for the Landmark edition.
Other exclusive details include grey design touches including the Carpathian Grey contrast panoramic roof, 19-inch Gloss Dark alloy wheels and Graphite Atlas grille, bonnet, fender vent and tailgate lettering. Grey elements continue to flow from the outside to the interiors in the form of satin centre console trim finishers surrounded by grained Ebony leather seats with contrasting Light Lunar stitching and a perforated mid-section.
Just like the regular Evoque, the Landmark edition also comes with Land Rover’s optional 10-inch InControl Touch Pro system featuring a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and support for apps such as Spotify. The Remote Premium app for smartphones or a smartwatch lets owners check the fuel level, lock status, location and even pre-heat or cool the cabin.
The Landmark edition commemorates the sales milestone at the UK plant, which makes it less important for our market as the Evoque is assembled here in India as well. Therefore, it is unlikely that the Landmark edition will be sold here.
Richard Else, director of Halewood operations at Jaguar Land Rover said,"An Evoque rolls off the Halewood production line every 170 seconds, with Evoque Convertible also being produced in Halewood since 2016. Most are for export to one of 130 markets, with additional manufacturing in China and Brazil to meet local market demand. In fact, 80 per cent of the UK-built Evoque models are exported. Jaguar Land Rover generates around 80 per cent of its revenue from overseas sales."
Gerry McGovern, chief design officer at Land Rover said,"What makes Evoque so special is its relevance. The design remains modern and fresh. The Evoque is widely acknowledged to have brought a whole new youthful generation of buyers into the Range Rover brand, including more women. Its success was clear from the start and gave us the confidence to break new ground, which you can see with vehicles like the Evoque Convertible."
