While Jaguar Land Rover finally brought the locally assembled Range Rover Velar SUV to India back in April this year, its UK counterpart has now unveiled a Black Limited Edition of the R-Dynamic variant trim. Based on the D-180 R-Dynamic SE variant, this iteration of the Velar sports various blacked-out bits as well as additional features.
The highlights on the outside are 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels and two body shades: Santorini Black and Eiger Grey. It also gets privacy glass, fixed panoramic glass roof, heated steering wheel as well as adaptive dynamics. The upholstery is given ebony-perforated grained leather to add to the premiumness of the SUV.
While Jaguar Land Rover hasn’t revealed the technical specs of the SUV, we expect it to be powered by the same diesel motor as the D-180 R-Dynamic SE variant it is based on. Powering the variant is a 2.0-litre unit that produces 177PS of power and 430Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Land Rover has priced the Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black Limited Edition at £56,995 (Rs 53.27 lakh) with deliveries expected to commence by 2020. The carmaker has reiterated that this is a limited edition variant as only 500 units will be sold. The India-spec Range Rover Velar retails at a price tag of Rs 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), offered in 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. There is no word on when this limited edition variant could come to India or if it will even come to India at all, as we are yet to receive the top-spec SV Autobiography variant.
